Family entertainment

April 30, 2008

As a matter of fact I am a passionate theatre fan and I love going to the theatre. As I have a season ticket, I have seen virtually all the plays that have been performed by the permanent company of our theatre since the theatrical season began. I suppose the most frequently played musical is the Cats, this is really popular performance in our country. The cast is generally very good and they feature the best artists. The plays of G. B. Shaw are also well-known and popular in my country. Among others we have seen Pygmalion and Saint Joan on Hungarian stages.

Last weekend our family went to a concert given by the National Philharmonic Orchestra. They performed Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony with Ligeti AndrĂ¡s as a conductor. It was splendid beyond words. Then a violinist played Kreisler’s concerto to the accompaniment of the orchestra. He is talented musician with a fine technique. At the end of the concert the music lovers the audience were really delighted. My children enjoyed our family programme, and asked for me to come here again!

Our pets

April 19, 2008

We like angling and keeping pets. As you know, we have a big family, therefore I think, we have place for pets too. We love animals, first of all dogs. Our dog’s name is Zorro, we found him outside on the road, and lodged him. He is really grateful to us and he is very much attached to all the members of the family. He is pure-bred, although it does not matter much to me. If he were a mongrel we would love him just the same! His kennel is right outside our front door and when he barks, he looks quite frightening especially for strangers. He is an excellent watch-dog.

Since last month we have another new pet, what is a cute chinchilla. My eldest son got it as a birthday present. We gave him a common name:Kiwi. He is a typical night-animal, sleeps all day, and romps at nights. He has beautiful, grey colour, and very silk-like hair. In the evenings he is a really jack-in -the-box. His favourite food is hay. My children are very-very happy with our pets!

Our family dinner

April 3, 2008

On our way to a small village with my family, we once stopped at a roadside restaurant. We were very hungry and we didn’t have anywhere else to go.It was an old inn and there were a lot of people inside. The waiter was surprised because of my children. To tell the truth, they were a little bit noisy. Therefore, in spite of the crowd we managed to find an empty table but the cloth on it was dirty and full of food-stains. The plates that other costumers had eaten from were still on the table and had leftovers in them. It took ages before the waiter came and cleared the table, leaving the food-stained cloth on it. It was another half an hour before he appeared again and took our order. There were not many dishes on the menu;eggs, in mayonnaise, rolled ham, some soups, Wiener Schnitzel, stew and pickled gherkin. We ordered pork and though it was a little tough it was quite tasty after all.I don’t think to come here again. Finally, we got into our auto, drove home and I prepared a very delicious dinner. And the tablecloth was absolutely clear…auto
